Mechanics: Attacks
When one character is trying to directly damage another they will roll an Attack to see if they are successful and how much they hurt the other one.
Attacks are handled like Checks, except the Precision threshold is set by the target's defenses instead of being set by the GM, and the attack’s Impact is the damage that the attack deals. The attacker chooses which Attributes to use, rolls their combined pool, and chooses two dice to use. Then they compare their roll's Precision against the target's defense. If it surpasses the target's defense, the attack hits and deals the attack’s Impact as damage to the target. The damage can be mitigated, or negated completely, if the target has sufficient Toughness.
Example: Frank is trying to punch an angry Nazi. He adds the pools of his Power Attribute (d8/d4) and his Quickness Attribute (d4) for a combined pool of d8/d4/d4. He rolls 6, 3, and 1. He chooses the 6 and 3 for a Precision of 9 and an Impact of 3. The Nazi's defense is 8, so Frank's punch just barely lands, dealing three damage. The Nazi has Toughness 2 and ends up taking only 1 of the damage.
