Character Creation: Defense Scores
Character's have two defensive scores -- Physical Defense and Mental Defense.
Both scores are created the same way, but use different Attributes. Physical Defense uses Power and Finesse while Mental Defense uses Charisma and Smarts. To find a character's defense, add all of the tiers of dice in the relevant Attributes, then add the character's Experience Tier. The result is the character's defense. Be sure to do this for both Physical Defense and Mental Defense.
Example: Saharra has a Power of d6 and a Finesse of d8/d4. The d6 is a tier 2 die, the d8 is a tier 3, and the d4 is a tier 1. These add up to 6. Saharra is an Everyman character (Tier 1), so she adds 1 to her defense. Her Physical Defense totals 7. This is the number that an attacker’s Precision has to beat to be able to affect her physically. For her Mental Defense, her Charisma and Smarts are both a d8, which gives her a Mental Defense of 7.
