Mechanics: Attributes
Characters have eight Attributes: Power, Endurance, Finesse, Quickness, Willpower, Intuition, Charisma, and Smarts.
Each Attribute is represented by a collection of dice, referred to as a pool. Each Attribute’s pool is between one and five dice. The dice can be of different sizes, from a d4 up to a d12. Each step is called a tier. A d4 is tier 1, d8 is tier 2, on up to tier 5 at d12.
The size of dice in a pool indicates the maximum potential of a character's ability, while the number of dice in a pool correspond to how reliable that ability is. A character with a single d12 in Power, for example, can accomplish some amazing feats of strength … occasionally. Conversely, a character with five d6s will almost never fail, though they are not capable of the impressive spectacles done by the other character. Most of the time, you will want a balance between the two extremes.
Example: Frank’s Endurance Attribute is a pool of three dice: a d10, a d6, and a d4. His Smarts is less impressive, being represented by a single d6.
